Erasmus+

We have completed three Erasmus+ KA1 projects, the fourth project ‘Crossing borders, students and staff’ started in september 2023. More than 45 employees have been abroad for a job shadowing, a conference or a course. We have welcomed partners from different countries. New in the fourth project are group trips for students where they exchange with fellow students abroad, practice their language skills and learn about Europe.

In May 2022, we started our Erasmus+ KA2 project ‘Together strong in languages’,
a partnership with Rotterdam and Luxembourg on supporting parents in the multilingual education of their children. International learning is an important part of professional development at Ligo Brusselleer.

About us

Centrum Basiseducatie Ligo Brusselleer is the Brussels-based institution for adult literacy in Dutch. It is one of the 13 Adult Literacy Centres that are part of the Flemish Department for Education.

Ligo Brusselleer organises open courses in literacy, maths, social orientation and ICT for adults with a low degree of education. In addition, we offer tailor-made courses. The language competence levels our institution offers as defined by the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) are A1 (Breakthrough) and A2 (Waystage).

Ligo Brusselleer also organises language and literacy coaching for adults in vocational training as well as educational courses for parents of children in Dutch-speaking primary schools. Our lessons take place at different locations in the Brussels Capital Region.

Ligo Brusselleer is part of a broad network of institutions and organisations and works in partnership with many Belgian stakeholders in adult learning. Ligo Brusselleer employs 143 people to date and offered courses to 1.977 students in the ’22-’23 school year.
